A dramatic tale (on land) of cancelled trains, looming exams and injury/illness was not the ideal prep for a busy weekend at NER’s in Sheffield but our Tynedale swimmers still turned in some fast swims and great performances.
Our NER qualifiers:
Ralph, Ned, Adam B, Thomas, Gwen, Harry B, Niamh, Jamie, Jess, Daniel and Ella.
Notable mentions go to Harry Brown who took 8 secs off his PB in 200Brs. Jamie Lonergan who got a PB in 100 Free despite having broken his collarbone recently .Thomas (who still had the chesty cough lurgy) took more time off his 50Free (he has PB’d at the last 3 galas in this event).
Special shoutout to medallist, Niamh Lonergan. Silver in the 50 Back and a Scottish National Qualifying time to boot. Well done Niamh! Congrats to Ralph and Gwen who also qualified for Scottish Nationals – well done team!
